Dr. Ofer Jacobowitz, M.D., PhD.

Ofer Jacobowitz, M.D., PhD. graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an SB degree in life sciences. He continued his studies at the medical scientist training program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and an MD degree. He performed his postgraduate training in Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is board certified in otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery, as well as Sleep Medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.

Dr. Jacobowitz treats adults and children and specializes in advanced medical and surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, minimally-invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and allergy. He has lectured at national and international venues on the subject of sleep medicine and sleep apnea and has authored publications in the field. He directs courses in sleep apnea at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and at the American Academy of Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery, where he is a member of the sleep disorders and the medical drugs and devices committees. He is a founding member of the International Surgical Sleep Society and a member of the American Thyroid Association.

Dr. Jacobowitz is the chairman of the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat department and a member of the medical executive committee at Orange Regional Medical Center. He is an associate director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at Orange Regional Medical Center. He is an Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia/ New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Jacobowitz is a partner and director of allergy at Hudson Valley Ear, Nose & Throat, P.C. He is a governing board member at Hudson Valley Ambulatory Surgery, LLC. He is a member of the Orange County Medical Society, where he has served on several committees, including the executive committee.

Dr. Jacobowitz enjoys treating his patients with advanced medicine and compassion. He enjoys teaching residents at Columbia and mentoring students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at his practice.
